This blog contains my personal views on the state of software development without necessarily subscribing to a single philosophy. I think the most important idea in software development is that software development is meant to be a business-critical activity that is guided, rather dictated, by end-results. Everything else is secondary, and a development choice must never be divorced from what the customer's end-needs are. To that end, a fanatical love for development methods of the day are meaningless because they tend to trivilize the core issue and land the spotlight on peripheral issues. I am influenced by the ideas of Waterfall, CMM, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, RUP, Evo, Kanban....without having a die-hand loyalty towards one of them...I believe a good workman should know her tools and must be able to decide when to choose what tool!
